"Whispering Hope" and "Country Cross & Flame"

Return to View Quilts

A visiting bishop noted that the York Center United Methodist Church didn't have the denomination's cross and flame symbol actually "on" the church building.  The church board was aware of the growing quilt trail and decided to use barn quilts to solve the problem.  Members designed two quilts resembling stained glass and attached one to each side of the church so that passersby would see one or the other regardless of their direction of travel.  Their efforts have added two more unique quilt blocks to the Granton Barn Quilt Trail.
