On their 100 acres north of Granton, the owners of this quilt tap 20,000 maple trees each year, processing the sap into many gallons of sweet syrup.  In 2012, they built a new sugar shanty to accommodate increased production.  When a relative installed a barn quilt in 2013, they were influenced to hang a quilt of their own on the new shanty.  This quilt is not visible from the road, but will be seen by anyone stopping by for a jar or two of maple syrup.  Two more quilts are in progress; "We want to display at least one with a maple leaf design to tie in with our maple syrup business.”
